Rodel Arizona Futures Simulator
Arizona State University partnered with the Rodel Foundation of Arizona to build a modeling platform that helps leaders and citizens test policy ideas before they are implemented. The simulator is meant to make long-term tradeoffs easier to explore by turning complex Arizona systems into a decision-making tool.
Project context from the article
- The platform is designed to let users ask a supercomputer how proposed ideas may play out over time.
- It builds on ASU's existing strengths in Decision Theater, the Helios Decision Center for Educational Excellence, the Decision Center for a Desert City, and the Knowledge Exchange for Resilience.
- The simulator focuses on issues that shape Arizona's future, including education, infrastructure, health and well-being, jobs, economic opportunity, environment, and sustainability.
- Because it is accessible remotely, the platform is meant to support collaboration across Arizona, the United States, and beyond.
The broader goal is to give decision-makers a shared modeling environment that helps connect data to policy questions and improves the quality of public planning.
